Your recovery key

Your recovery key is 24 words that bring back your COPY identity, friends, and groups if you lose your phone.

Find it

Settings, then Profile, then Recovery Key. Tap Show, then Copy. Keep it somewhere private, like a password manager.

What it brings back

• Your profile, friends, and groups
• Messages that haven’t expired yet
• Your starting device and earned devices that have synced with COPY
• A COPY Club pass

Your recovery key brings back starting and earned devices that have synced with COPY. Older devices saved only on your previous phone may not come back.

Devices you bought come back through Restore Purchases instead.

If you lose it

We don’t store your key, so there’s no forgot-password option. Without it, a lost phone means starting fresh.
