# Delete your account

What gets removed, what stays, and how to just leave a channel.

In Settings, scroll to the bottom and tap **Delete Account**. You can’t undo this or restore the deleted account with your recovery key. Can’t use the app? Email [feedback@getcopy.app](mailto:feedback@getcopy.app) and ask us to delete it.

## What’s removed

- Your profile, friends, and channels
- Messages you sent
- Devices COPY gave you, and any COPY Club membership

One-to-one channels are deleted. In groups, you’re removed and the group gets a new key.

## What stays

- Purchases you made in the App Store
- Messages other people sent can remain in groups after you leave, until everyone has listened or they expire
- Limited usage and delivery records. Our [privacy policy](https://getcopy.app/privacy) explains what we retain and for how long

Your [recovery key](https://getcopy.app/help/recovery-key) can’t bring a deleted account back.

## Just want to leave one channel?

Long-press it. Choose **Leave channel** for a group, or **Remove friend** for one person.
